Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 21 January 2022 to Question 106718 on Protective Clothing: Coronavirus, what the other PPE supplier is with which his Department is in mediation.

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what was the total public expenditure on faulty PPE products made by Zhende and Inivos which cannot be used by the NHS; and what steps they are taking to recoup this expenditure.

Inivos supplied gowns with a contract value of £117,360,000, which are currently under investigation through the technical regulatory assurance process. Since the Department does not have a contract directly with Zhende, the information requested is not held centrally.

The Department has rented 9,512 containers since the start of the pandemic.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the allocated expenditure is for the rental of shipping containers by the Government or its agents to store unused personal protective equipment for the 2021-22 financial year.

This information is not held in the format requested. However, by the end of November 2021, £300.7 million had been spent on the storage of personal protective equipment. This includes the rental of shipping containers and storage space in the United Kingdom and overseas.
